Nationalmuseum is a government agency with approximately 160 employees tasked with promoting art, interest in art, and art history. The museum's collections include painting, sculpture, drawings, and graphics from the 16th century to the turn of the 20th century, while the collections of decorative arts and design, as well as portrait art, extend to the present day.

The collections are displayed in the main building on Blasieholmen, Stockholm, and at approximately 20 other visitor sites, including Gripsholm Castle, Läckö Castle, Nationalmuseum Jamtli in Östersund, and Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum. Nationalmuseum also conducts exhibition, program, research, and publication activities, as well as lending operations. We strive to be a museum where everyone feels welcome and offer a broad range of activities both on-site and digitally. By providing contemporary perspectives on history and historical perspectives on the present, we enable in-depth conversations about art and design for all ages.

As an Exhibition Coordinator, you are part of the museum's Exhibition Department. In this role, you are responsible for the administrative tasks in an exhibition project, thereby playing a key role in the museum's operations.

You have overall responsibility for project planning and, in some projects, for project management. You coordinate the activities of the projects and collaborate with curators, exhibition designers, conservators, educators, artists, graphic designers, lighting designers, and other professional groups. You prepare project budgets and are responsible for budget monitoring. You handle applications for loaning objects to exhibitions, insurance matters, and transport orders. You draw up agreements with external partners. The work involves a high degree of independence.

The work is based on Nationalmuseum's mission, strategic goals, vision, values, visual profile, and graphic program.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant academic education, preferably in cultural studies, curating, project management, and/or other subjects relevant to the position.
  • At least two years of experience in administrative work in exhibition projects.
  • Proven practical knowledge in project management and/or project coordination.
  • At least two years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Merits:

  • Additional relevant language skills.
  • Experience in event production or work with other types of projects within culture, communication, and media.
  • Experience working in the public sector.
  • Experience in international work.

In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
